The shield is blue with a gold chevron. The heraldic partition line represents clouds; the colors are those of the Air Force. The design was first approved for the 8th Pursuit Group on Sept. 6, 1934, and passed on to the wing on July 3, 1952. The crest signifies that the Group's original three squadrons served overseas without combat during the first World War. Inscribed on the scroll is the motto "Attaquez Et Conquerez" (Attack And Conquer). |
